Styling the Brookes Collective Pencil Skirt
Once again I am on the blog today to talk about one of the Brookes Collective originals - our Pencil Skirt! I am going to be sharing some outfit options so when this becomes available on March 2nd, you will know you have to have it in your closet!
You will notice our beautiful model Amanda wearing the Pencil Skirt (far right) - along with the other Brooke Collective models and co-founders.
We are starting out casual today and matching Amanda's style from the photoshoot. We love a basic T similar to the one posted here and like Amanda is wearing in the photo. This basic T is styled with a big chunky statement necklace and a little more simplistic earrings. We have allowed the clothing to become the backdrop for the jewelry - and I believe it's a beautiful canvas! You know how we like to mix our styles a bit and by adding tennis shoes to this look it really pulls a casual vibe that we feel is flirty and fun! Pair this with a tote bag and you are ready!
I'm feeling the preppy vibe that this look brings. I love a good plaid and I think mixing the patterns with some leopard print is a bit unexpected but certainly cute! The shirt looks great tucked in or another option would be knotted in the front. If it is long enough and slim fitted then leaving it untucked would be great too! The necklace needs to stand out just like the rest of the outfit. Adding a touch of color with one piece of jewelry is a great way to coordinate with the plaid and is a good way to pull it all in together. I also love the idea of a cross body bag to round it out.
For the last look we are going kind of fancy - can an oversized sweater be classified as dressy? I think when they are paired with some strappy black heels the answer is yes! I can't wait to see the pencil skirt with a sweater and heels! Add jewelry that is going to stand out agains the chunkiness of the sweater but not take away the simplicity of the outfit. I like a delicate pendant necklace, drop earrings and a stacked ring. An envelope clutch would be adorable and fitting for this outfit, but a cross body like the one above would tie in nicely as well!
We love a versatile piece of clothing and with the ability to be casual, wear to work or dressy, this skirt is a perfect choice! Tell us which outfit you like best!
